2024 Junior Summer Camps
Overview
Ages 5 - 16. Markham Tennis Academy’s ultimate junior tennis experience. Our Junior Summer Camps will help your child build the essential skills required to rally, play games and keep score. Your child will learn basic technique for groundstrokes, serves, volleys and footwork in an inclusive and welcoming environment. Most importantly, we strive to create the most fun tennis experience possible with drills, games and off-court activities that will help make the most of your child’s camp experience and foster their love for tennis.

AM sessions: 9am-12pm, PM sessions: 1pm-4pm

- Please bring comfortable clothes, running shoes, sunscreen, water, and a snack for each day (no nuts).
- A sanitized racket will be provided if a camper does not bring their own tennis racket.
- For full-day campers, ensure they have a lunch provided each day. On Fridays, there will be a complementary pizza lunch.
Camp Guide
At our academy, tennis camps are the most important factor in our mission to grow the sport of tennis. With that in mind, we set out to put together the best tennis camp in the GTA. We knew we needed to provide camps where children learn as much as possible while having as much fun as possible. It was also really important to us to get creative and add elements to our camp to make it unique and add value to the traditional tennis camp experience.
Learning
Stroke production
Students will learn how to swing properly for optimal power and control on groundstrokes, serves and volleys.
Footwork
Students will learn how to move as efficiently and quickly as possible to cover the court
Basic strategy and positioning
Students will learn how to use strategy to win points and where to position themselves on the court for both singles and doubles situations.
Tennis Canada-approved
Each member of our all star team of coaches is certified by Tennis Canada. In addition, some of our coaches have competed at the national level or have decades of experience coaching.

Progressive tennis
Our academy implements Tennis Canada’s “progressive tennis approach” and ensures the correct court size and ball are used for our campers based on their height, age and ability. This enables them to develop strong fundamentals.

Games
Not only are games fun, but they keep campers in the engaged so that they can practice their new skills with maximum focus!

What could be better than prizes to get campers motivated?
Additional sports
Having additional sports gives children a chance to change things up during a long day of tennis and further develop their physical literacy and teamwork.
Our Coaches
Besides our campers, the most important part of our camps are the coaches that run them. Our coaches are all excellent role models and leaders with high-energy and a lot of passion for tennis.

A pizza lunch will be provided on Fridays for each full day camper at no extra cost
Misting fan
Unique to our academy, our misting fan cools up to 500 square feet and will keep campers cool on even the most uncomfortably hot days.
Shade
We made sure to provide as much shade as possible so that our campers can enjoy maximum comfort throughout the day.
Full-day discount
Full-day camp is the true tennis camp experience. We wanted more children to be able to enjoy this experience so we made our full day session more affordable.
